Needless to say, I had a lot of concerns and preconceived notions about what western South Dakota was like - none of which made me want to move there. However, it was a permanent job that would open the door to permanent jobs elsewhere - and by elsewhere I mean somewhere beautiful with mountains, forests, and charming little towns, anywhere besides windswept South Dakota where the cattle population is greater than the human population.
