Established on February 17, 1988, Asiana Airlines is based in Seoul, South Korea. It commenced its operations on December 1988, with flights to Busan. It is one of the two major airlines in South Korea, the other being Korean Air. Asiana Airline's main hubs are located at Incheon International Airport (for international flights) and Gimpo International Airport (for domestic flights).   The airline was founded by the Kumho Asiana Group, a South Korean conglomerate. The establishment of the airline was a part of the South Korean government's policy to create an additional flag carrier. Asiana Airlines was originally named as Seoul Air International.
